While the women are standard figure types for processions, the men in front are sacrificers shown immediately before the killing of the bull, which is depicted with its head bent down. Description: tankard, toreutics, Roman – Material: silver – Dating: 14/37 – Discovery: Boscoreale – Description: Tiberiusbecher aus Boscoreale: Rechtsläufige Prozession mit vier bekränzten Liktoren (mit fasces und Äxten), einem Pferdeführer, zwei victimarii mit Stier und Triumphalquadriga, auf der Tiberius steht. Er trägt ein Adlerszepter und einen Zweig in der Hand, hinter ihm steht ein ihn bekränzender Staatssklave. Der Wagenkasten ist mit einer Victoria mit Schild und einer weiblichen Figur verziert. Dem Wagen folgt eine Gruppe von Soldaten mit torques (dona militaria) und Zweigen. Der Stier trägt eine dreieckige Kopfbedeckung (frontale), auf der ein Adler abgebildet ist. Anschliessend eine Stieropferszene mit Tiberius am Räucheraltar (foculus) in der Mitte, rechts daneben drei popae bei der Schlachtung des Stieres, von denen einer den Stier an den Hörnern hält, die anderen beiden tragen Axt und Opfermesser (culter). Links schliessen zwei Männer ohne Attribute und zwei Liktoren mit fasces und Äxten an, zwei weitere Liktoren stehen hinter dem Altar. Im Hintergrund ein Tempel in Übereckansicht: sehr hohes, abgestuftes Podium aus Quadermauerwerk mit einer unten r. eingelassenen rechteckigen Tür. Frontseite (mit Girlande dekoriert) mit vier Säulen (Ordnung unklar), tiefe Vorhalle, seitlich Cellamauerwerk. Der Giebelschmuck (Adler auf Globus) kennzeichnet das Gebäude als Iuppiter-Tempel (Kapitol? Iuppiter Feretrius?). Vegetabiler Firstakroter. Angabe der Dachziegel. R. Langseite durch Eckpilaster und Mauerwerk angegeben.

Dazwischen eine Opferszene in einer Höhle, in der Apollon mit kithara vor einem Ophalos steht, auf die eine weitere Muse eine Libation ausführt. Auf einem Zwischenniveau auf der rechten Seite steht eine weitere Frau mit Blick auf Zeus, die vielleicht als Mnemosyne, die Mutter der Musen, interpretiert werden kann. Unterstes Register: Opfer für den vergöttlichten Homer an einem Rund-Altar (Basis, Abschlussprofile, Focusplatte), auf den die Personifikation Historia Weihrauchkörner streut. Homer sitzt links auf einem Thron mit Szepter und Fackel in der Hand; der Thron wird gestützt von zwei knieenden weiblichen Figuren (die Personifikationen von Ilias und Odyssee mit Schwert und Schiffsheck als Attributen). Hinter dem Thron stehen eine geflügelte männliche (Chronos) und eine weibliche Gestalt mit kalathos (Oikoumene), die ihm eine Krone aufsetzt. Homer sitzt links auf einem Thron mit Szepter und Fackel in der Hand; der Thron wird gestützt von zwei knieenden weiblichen Figuren (die Personifikationen von Ilias und Odyssee mit Schwert und Schiffsheck als Attributen). Hinter dem Thron stehen eine geflügelte männliche (Chronos) und eine weibliche Gestalt mit kalathos (Oikoumene), die ihm eine Krone aufsetzt. Vor dem Altar ein kleiner Opferdiener mit oinochoe und phiale in der Hand, hinter dem Altar ist in flachem Relief ein Stier erkennbar. Es folgen nach rechts Historia und drei Adorantinnen, von denen die vordere (Poiesis) zwei Fackeln in die Luft hält, die beiden hinteren (Tragodia und Komodia) strecken einen Arm empor, mit dem anderen halten sie das Gewand an der Hüfte. Oberstes Register: in der Landschaft lagernder Zeus mit Szepter in der Rechten, neben ihm ein Adler. Zweites und drittes Register: Darstellung der neun Musen und Apollons, sowohl sitzende als auch stehende Musen mit kithara, Doppelaulos, Schreibtafel oder Tamburin. Dazwischen eine Opferszene in einer Höhle, in der Apollon mit kithara vor einem Ophalos steht, auf die eine weitere Muse eine Libation ausführt. Auf einem Zwischenniveau auf der rechten Seite steht eine weitere Frau mit Blick auf Zeus, die vielleicht als Mnemosyne, die Mutter der Musen, interpretiert werden kann.
