Description: crater: column crater, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Agrigento Painter – Dating: -470/-460 – Discovery: Campania – Description: Seite A: Tod des Bousiris: Bousiris sitzt mit angewinkeltem Bein auf dem Altar (Basis, rechteckiger Block, verzierte Deckplatte, Volutenaufsatz, Epipyron), in der Linken ein Opfermesser, die Rechte abwehrend über dem Kopf erhoben. Vor ihm Herakles mit Löwenfell, Schwert und Köcher, der die Keule hebt, um Bousiris zu erschlagen. Zu beiden Seiten ist ein fliehender Aithiop dargestellt, der linke mit einem Bübdel obeloi (oder einer Fackel), der rechte mit einem kleinen Opfertisch. Seite B: Drei weitere fliehende Aithiopes, der mittlere mit einem Krug (Hydria?), der rechte mit einem kanoun (Opferkorb).
