Description: crater: volute crater, vase painting, red figured, Apulia – Material: terracotta – Artist: Ilioupersis Painter – Dating: -375/-340 – Discovery: (not specified) – Description: Sous le regard d’Apollon et d’Artemis, Agamemnon s’apprête à sacrifier Iphigeneia qui s’avance librement vers l’autel (Übereckansicht: zweistufige basis, rechteckiger Altarkörper mit Tänie geschmückt, nach oben hin breiter werdende Deckplatte mit Zickzackmuster, Windschutz auf linker Seite) alors que sa silhouette commence déjà à se confondre avec celle de la biche qui sera immolée à sa place. Le sacrificateur avance son couteau vers la tête d’Iphigeneia. Sur la gauche jeune hommne tenant un plateau duquel jaillissent deux rameaux, et une oenochoé. Au dessus de l’autel des bucranes.
