Description: frieze, relief, Roman – Material: marble – Dating: 41/54 – Discovery: (not specified) – Description: Stieropfer neben einem Tempel in Vorderansicht: sehr hohes, von Treppenwangen eingefasstes Podium (ca. 17 Stufen). 8 korinthische Säulen (7 erhalten) bilden die Vorhalle, hinter der ein Teil der detailliert angegebenen Cellaquadermauer und der Eingang sichtbar sind, 3-Fascien-Architrav, Zahnschnitt, figürlich verzierter Giebel, der das Gebäude als Tempel des Mars Ultor auf dem Augustus-Forum ausweist (zu dem früheren Mars Ultor [Rund]-Tempel s. die Münzbilder 30), Eckakrotere.

Hauptbild: Opfer an Apollon: Xouthos und Ion am Altar bei Stieropfer an Apollon. Links unten trägt eine Frau auf dem Kopf einen henkellosen, mit Zweigen geschmückten Korb mit leicht gewölbtem (?) Boden, darin zwei Kännchen. Das Heiligtum wird charakterisiert durch den Tempel und ein Perirrhanterion (am r. Bildrand). Der Innenenraum des Tempels ist hier nicht durch eine Tür, sondern die halbhohe Scherwand angedeutet. – B-Seite: Halsbild: Dionysische Szene. Hauptbild: Garten der Hesperiden.
