Description: pyxis, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Marlay Painter, Lid Painter – Dating: -440/-430 – Discovery: (not specified) – Description: Hochzeitszug mit Brautpaar im Viergespann. Im Hintergrund neben den Pferden die Brautmutter (?) mit Fackeln. Direkt hinter dem Wagen folgt ein weiterer Fackleträger. Hinter ihm läuft eine Frau mit Kiste auf dem Kopf und undefinierbarem Gegenstand in der Rechten. Am Ende des Zuges eine Frau, die einen sehr grossen Lebes Gamikos mit Deckel trägt. Hinter ihr ist das Haus der Braut durch eine Tür angedeutet aus dem eine Frau dem Zug hinterher schaut. Auf dem Deckel: Astra, Eos und Helios.

Zuordnung zu Festen: Anthesteria (Lehnstaedt, Simon) or the Great Dionysia (Frickenhaus, Gasparri in LIMC).
