Hinter dem Altar eine Säule mit bukranion, es folgt eine nach rechts gewandte Frau mit ausgebreiteten Armen, den Kopf zurück gedreht (Elektra?). Alternativ könnte die Szene den Tod des Priamos darstellen, der auf dem Altar sitzende passt jedoch dem Alter nach besser zu Aigisthos.

Description: pelike, vase painting, red figured, Lucania – Material: terracotta – Artist: Vaste Painter – Dating: -400/-390 – Discovery: unknown – Description: Bärtiger Aigisthos mit nacktem Oberkörper auf einem Altar sitzend (rechteckiger Block, dreistufige Krepis, Abschlussprofil, Deckplatte) streckt die Hände abwehrend dem bis auf einen pilos unbekleideten Orestes entgegen, der ihn von links mit einem Dolch erstechen will. Hinter dem Altar eine Säule mit bukranion, es folgt eine nach rechts gewandte Frau mit ausgebreiteten Armen, den Kopf zurück gedreht (Elektra?). Alternativ könnte die Szene den Tod des Priamos darstellen, der auf dem Altar sitzende passt jedoch dem Alter nach besser zu Aigisthos.
