Description: crater: bell crater, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Kleophon Painter – Dating: -425 – Discovery: (not specified) – Description: Ein Dithyramben-Chor (fünf bärtige, bekränzte Männer in festlichen Gewändern, z.T. mit Zweigen in den Händen singen zum Spiel eines Aulos-Bläsers) ist um einen Stange auf einem dreieckigen Unterteil versammelt, über den Füssen sind drei in Art einer dreiseitigen Pyramide schräg aufeinander zulaufende Stangen oder Bretter an, um die Efeu gewunden ist (maypole). Die Mittelstange ist so lange, dass sie in das Abschlussornament hineinragt. Kurz vor ihrem Ende ist eine Querstrebe angebracht, an der ein Stemma hängt. Zuordnung zu Festen: Grosse Dionysien (Friis Johansen); Anthesterien (Simon).

Über dem Altar fliegende Nike mit Oinochoe (nicht erhalten). B-seite: 3 Jünglinge – Inscriptions: Archenautes; Nikodemos; Kalos (oder Nikodemos kalos); SosiFos (statt Sositos).
