Neben diesem befindet sich ein victimarius mit Beil und Rind. Hinter diesem ein zweiter mit olla. Der Tempel besteht aus vier korinthische Säulen, dahinter Cella mit drei reichverzierten Türen, deren Höhe fast bis zum Ansatz der Kapitelle reicht. Auf dem Giebel sind Sol und Luna in der Quadriga. Auf der Schräge des Daches hat wohl einmal der nackte Mars gestanden – das legt zumindest die Darstellung auf dem traianischen Extispicium-Relief nahe. Das Giebelfeld ist überreich mit Figuren verziert: Zentral im Giebel ist die kapitolinische Trias, Iuppiter umgeben von Iuno und Minerva. Unterhalb der Minerva steht eine lang gewandete Göttin, die Iuventus darstellen dürfte. Unterhalb von Iuno steht Hercules. Links im Giebel ist Vulcanus am Amboss umgeben von zwei hämmernden Kyklopen dargestellt. Die Anzahl der Türen und das Bildprogramm des Giebels sichern die Benennung des Tempels.

Der Tempel besteht aus vier korinthische Säulen, dahinter Cella mit drei reichverzierten Türen, deren Höhe fast bis zum Ansatz der Kapitelle reicht. Auf dem Giebel sind Sol und Luna in der Quadriga. Auf der Schräge des Daches hat wohl einmal der nackte Mars gestanden – das legt zumindest die Darstellung auf dem traianischen Extispicium-Relief nahe. Rechts hinter Marc Aurel steht der genius senatus. Links hinter ihm ein flamen mit galerus mit apex. Neben ihm ein camillus mit acerra, dahinter ein Flötenspieler. Neben diesem befindet sich ein victimarius mit Beil und Rind. Hinter diesem ein zweiter mit olla. Der Tempel besteht aus vier korinthische Säulen, dahinter Cella mit drei reichverzierten Türen, deren Höhe fast bis zum Ansatz der Kapitelle reicht. Auf dem Giebel sind Sol und Luna in der Quadriga. Auf der Schräge des Daches hat wohl einmal der nackte Mars gestanden – das legt zumindest die Darstellung auf dem traianischen Extispicium-Relief nahe. Das Giebelfeld ist überreich mit Figuren verziert: Zentral im Giebel ist die kapitolinische Trias, Iuppiter umgeben von Iuno und Minerva. Unterhalb der Minerva steht eine lang gewandete Göttin, die Iuventus darstellen dürfte. Unterhalb von Iuno steht Hercules. Links im Giebel ist Vulcanus am Amboss umgeben von zwei hämmernden Kyklopen dargestellt. Die Anzahl der Türen und das Bildprogramm des Giebels sichern die Benennung des Tempels.
