Description: pelike, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -400/-390 – Discovery: Kertch, Pantikapaion – Description: Herakles opfert im Heiligtum der Chryse. In der Bildmitte die Kultstatue der Chryse mit Krone und zwei erhobenen Armen auf einer hohen Säule, davor ein aus Feldsteinen errichteter Altar, auf dem eine Platte mit Holzscheiten liegt. Links daneben Herakles auf die Keule gestützt, in der Linken hält er einen Zweig. Rechts des Altars steht ein bekränzter Begleiter (Lichnas?) mit einem kanoun mit Opfergaben in der Linken, mit der Rechten hält er einen chernibon über den Altar. Von links führt ein weiterer bekränzter Begleiter an einem Seil einen Stier heran, der ebenfalls einen Kranz trägt. Im oberen Register sitzen rechts Athena mit Helm und Speer und links ein junger Mann, vor dem Hermes mit kerykeion steht. Rechts unten sitzt Apollon mit Lorbeerzweig, vor ihm steht eine weitere männliche Figur. Seite B: Satyren und Mänaden.

Der rechteckige Block-Altar steht auf einer dreistufigen Basis (Kymation, Volutenaufsatz, Feuerschutzplatte, darauf Holzstoss) Sulla sinistra di questo un giovane con bastone (sacerdote?) compie una libagione, mentre alle sue spalle e dall’altra parte dell’altare sono due splanchnoptai. Apollo con lira e ramo siede, più in alto, sulla destra della scena; segue un suonatore di flauto. Sulla sinistra siede una donna (Artemis?). Sullo sfondo due tripodi (re. auf Säule mit ionischem Kapitell). Quasi tutte le figure portano una corona di alloro.
