Of the seated Asklepios, only the legs and the hands in the lap are preserved. He holds a staff in his r. hand. Behind him stands Hygieia, facing out. She wears a chiton and himation and leans on a tree, with her r. hand on her hip. A family of six mortals approaches an altar: a servant, with a bowl in his l. hand, leads a goat; behind him a man and wife, a younger woman, another man, and a child, followed by a maidservant carrying on her head a large basket/ciste covered by a cloth.

Description: crater: bell crater, vase painting, red figured, Apulia – Material: terracotta – Artist: Ilioupersis Painter – Dating: -360/-340 – Discovery: Armento – Description: Opferszene an einem Altar: Herakles hält ein Messer über den Kopf eines Stieres, den eine Nike gerade mit einem Kranz mit stemmata schmückt. R. eine junge Frau mit einer Kanne und einem Kanoun mit zwei Griffen, in dem drei Zweige (zwei noch sichtbar) stecken. Niedriger, rechteckiger Altar auf zweistufiger Basis, mit Kymation verzierte Deckplatte, Windschutz beiderseits, zu erkennen sind ausserdem Aschenreste, Blutspuren und ein Feuer. Über der Szene zwei Stierschädel mit stemmata.
