Description: sarcophagus, relief, Roman – Material: marble – Dating: 100/200 – Discovery: Torre Nova – Description: Initiationsdarstellung in die eleusinischen Mysterien: Einweihung des Herakles: Links Baum, daneben girlandengeschmückter Altar. Rechts davon steht ein Jüngling (Eubouleus, Eumolpos, Iakchos?) mit Fackel. Am rechten Rand ebenfalls ein Jüngling mit Fackel, der noch mit einem Kantharos über einem kleinen brennenden Altar libiert. Ihm gegenüber ein Bärtiger der ebenfalls libiert und auf seiner Linken eine Platte mit Früchten hält. Hinter ihm sitzt wohl der Initiant. Auf seinen Stuhl lehnt eine junge Frau mit gesenkter Fackel (Persephone?). Hinter ihr sitzt Demeter mit bakchos auf der Cista mystica. Im Hintergrund der Darstellung befinden sich verschiedene weitere Personen. Zuordnung zu Festen: Eleusinische Mysterien (Deubner). Rückseite: Laut Curtius Darstellung der Alkestis mit zwei Peliaden.

Description: crater: volute crater, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -400/-390 – Discovery: unknown – Description: Fragment mit der Darstellung der Opferszene des Herakles im Heiligtum der Chryse: Herakles mit stemma in der Hand steht vor dem Altar aus Feldsteinen, auf dem ein Holzstapel aufgeschichtet ist. Von links nähert sich Lichas mit dem Opferstier, rechts ein Opferdiener mit chernibeion und einem flachen Tablett mit Füsschen und drei aufgesteckten Zweigen. Im Hintergrund steht eine Säule, an der die Keule des Herakles angelehnt ist. Hinter Herakles steht ein hoher Dreifuss, von dem eine Binde hängt.

Auf dem Altar liegt ein Kranz. An die Armbosse der Herme ist ein Zweig angesetzt worden, Inschrift auf Hermenschaft#(B): Eine nach links eilende Frau hält bzw. in der rechten Hand eine Oinochoe und in der linken Hand eine Phiale. Sie wendet sich zurück zur Herme.
