Dadurch und durch die fehlende Standfläche ist das Gefäss eindeutig als Rhyton gekennzeichnet. Auf dem umlaufenden Hauptfries sind die Sieben gegen Theben dargestellt. Links gibt Amphiaraos Parthenopaios das Orakel, die anderen 5 (Adrastos, Kapaneus, Polyneikes, Hippomedon, Tydeus) stürmen gegen Theben, wo sie am Tor entdeckt werden.

Description: relief, relief – Material: marble – Dating: -27/14 – Discovery: Sorrento – Description: Thronende Vesta (flankiert von Salus und Flora?), hinter ihr Pfeiler mit Tieranathemen (Stier und Widder) und Rundtempel in flachem Relief (zwei ionische Säulen, Gebälk, kegelförmiges, vom oberen Bildrand abgeschnittenes Dach mit Längsrippung). Palladion zwischen den Säulen. Wohl der Vestatempel auf dem Forum (andere Deutungen: Vestatempel in domo Palatino). Frontseite: Vestakult – hier opfert der (verlorene) pontifex maximus Augustus, begleiet von Vestalinnen vor der thronenden Göttin (Szene bezieht sich auf seine Neuordnung des stadtrömischen Vesta-Kultes 12. v. Chr.)
