Fries: Le sacrifice du Censeur a lieu auprès de la grande “Ara Martis in Campo”; Ares lui-même est présent pour l’accueillir, debout à gauche de l’autel. De l’autre côté le Censeur, assisté par deux serviteurs, est accomplit une libation. Derrière lui, des serviteurs amènent les animaux (suovetaurilia) pour le sacrifice. Derrière Mars, deux musiciens. Aux extremités de la scène d’autres figures.

Description: statuette, sculpture in the round, Roman – Material: marble – Dating: -27/14 – Discovery: Praeneste, Palestrina – Description: Marmorstatuen der Göttinnen von Antium bzw. deren Kultstatuen in unterschiedlicher Tracht (es handelt sich um zwei verschiedene Formen der Tyche, die aus den hellenistischen bzw. römischen Aspekten der Göttin resultierten) auf fercula gestellt, deren Tragestangen jeweils in Tierköpfen enden. Beide sind als Prozessionsgöttinnen auf einem lectus abgestellt, auf dessen Aussenseite sich eine Schlange ringelt.

Vor ihm steht Apoll, in seiner linken Hand eine grosse Phiale. Er hält mit der Rechten einen Lorberzweig über den Kopf von Orestes, den er wahrscheinlich vorher in die Phiale eingetaucht hat (Reinigung?). Rechts des Altars steht eine Erinye mit grossen Flügeln und Halskette. Links steht eine Priesterin mit grossem Schlüssel an dem ein Stemma befestigt ist. B-Seite: Drei Jünglinge.
