In der Mitte hinter dem Knaben quadratischer Bau (Tetrastylon, perspektivisch, vier dorische Säulen mit Architrav) auf zwei hohen Stufen. Der Vater stellt hier seinen Sohn unter den Schutz des Herakles, vergleichbar mit dem Übergangsritual an den Apatourien, wo das Kind in die Phratrie eingeführt wird.

Description: wall painting, wall painting, Campania – Dating: 45/79 – Discovery: Pompei – Description: Lararienbild: Im oberen Bildfeld libiert ein Genius capite velato mit patera in der Rechten und Füllhorn im Arm an einem marmornen Rundaltar (Feuer). Hinter ihm steht ein kleiner dargestellter Opferdiener mit Tänie oder Stemma und Lanx. Hinter ihm ein grosser Lar, der aus einem über den Kopf gehaltenen Rhyton in langem Strahl in eine Situla eingiesst. Auf der anderen Seite des Altars, dem opfernden Genius direkt gegenüber, steht ein Flötenspieler (phrygische Flöte), auch hinter ihm kommt ein wesentlich kleiner dargestellter Opferdiener mit einem Schwein heran, das mit einer Dorsuale geschmückt ist. Hinter diesem steht quasi spiegelbildlich angeordnet ebenfalls ein grosser Lar, der ebenso aus einem Rhyton in eine Situla eingiesst. Im unteren Bildfeld ein weiterer Rundaltar (Reliefschmuck) zwischen antithetischen Schlangen.

In der Linken hält er ein Szepter. Neben ihm sitzt ein Adler am Boden. Im unteren Bereich sitzt der Dedikant Euodion. An einem brennenden Altar (zwei stufiges Podest und Deckplatte) schwingt ein Opferdiener eine Doppelaxt, um einen Stier zu töten. Von rechts nähert sich adorierend ein Mann und ein Knabe mit Weintraube. Links steht eine junge Frau mit zwei Girlanden in der Hand und ein Mädchen mit einem Kanoun voller Früchte. – Inscriptions: kathos ekeleusen

Description: relief, relief, Locri – Material: terracotta – Dating: -460/-440 – Discovery: Locri, Lokroi Epizephyrioi, Locri Epizephyrii, Locrensium (Italy) – Description: Mit Hilfe weiterer Reliefs (z.B. aus Reggio Calabria, Mus. Naz.) lässt sich folgende Darstellung rekonstruieren: Vor einem prächtigen Aphroditetempel mit Statuen eines Götterpaares (Hermes mit Omphalosphiale und Aphrodite) im Inneren libiert ein junges Paar am Altar. Vorderansicht: zweistufiger Unterbau, zwei kannelierte Säulen (ionische Kapitelle), die eine Stufe tiefer stehen als die Cella. Zweifaszienarchitrav mit Zahnschnitt, Metopen-Tetraglyphenfries, leeres Tympanon, reichverzierte Simen, am First grosses Gorgoneion; geöffnete Tür. Das Paar opfert mit an einem Altar mit Holzscheiten und osphys, der auf hoher Basis steht und Reliefschmuck trägt: Satyr mit Hirschkuh, Dekorleiste, Volutenplatte.
