Description: crater: bell crater, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -450/-425 – Discovery: unknown – Description: Opferszene: Herakles (links auf Steinen sitzend) mit zwei Begleitern im Heiligtum der Chryse, die an einem aus Feldsteinen errichteten Altar (nicht vollständig erhalten; darauf: Holzstoss, Schwanz eines Opfertieres) ein Opfer vollziehen. Links und rechts des Altars halten die beiden Begleiter als splanchnoptai obeloi über den Altar. Das Kultbild (nur der untere Teil ist erhalten) steht auf einer Säule vor dem Altar, im Hintergrund hängen 3 figürlich bemalte pinakes an einem Baum. Rechts schliessen sich Athena und eine weitere Göttin an, von der nur die Hände und ein Teil des Gewandes erhalten sind. – Inscriptions: Namensbeischriften erlauben die Identifikation der Begleiter des Herakles als Philoktet und Lichas: F???S???, ??[??S].

Description: relief, relief, Locri – Material: terracotta – Dating: -460/-440 – Discovery: Locri, Lokroi Epizephyrioi, Locri Epizephyrii, Locrensium (Italy) – Description: Mit Hilfe weiterer Reliefs (z.B. aus Reggio Calabria, Mus. Naz.) lässt sich folgende Darstellung rekonstruieren: Vor einem prächtigen Aphroditetempel mit Statuen eines Götterpaares (Hermes mit Omphalosphiale und Aphrodite) im Inneren libiert ein junges Paar am Altar. Vorderansicht: zweistufiger Unterbau, zwei kannelierte Säulen (ionische Kapitelle), die eine Stufe tiefer stehen als die Cella. Zweifaszienarchitrav mit Zahnschnitt, Metopen-Tetraglyphenfries, leeres Tympanon, reichverzierte Simen, am First grosses Gorgoneion; geöffnete Tür. Das Paar opfert mit an einem Altar mit Holzscheiten und osphys, der auf hoher Basis steht und Reliefschmuck trägt: Satyr mit Hirschkuh, Dekorleiste, Volutenplatte.
