Description: cup, vase painting, black figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Burgon Group – Dating: -575/-525 – Discovery: Rhodes (Dodecanese – Description: A-Seite: Ein nackter junger Mann und fünf Frauen tanzen, eine weitere Frau (Priesterin) steht mit einem Liknon – Ähren und andere, grössere Gegenstände sind darin sichtbar – am brennenden Altar (rechteckiger Block mit Basis, Übereckansicht). Eine Göttin (Demeter) sitzt auf einem Stuhl und hält ein Szepter in ihrer Linken. Die Deutung auf die Thesmophoria (Ashmole) ist wegen der Verbindung mit der Pflugszene auf Seite B unwahrscheinlich. B-Seite: Ein Mann sät, einer pflügt (Bouzyges). Zuordnung zu Festen: Proerosia/?e??? a??t?? (Simon).
