Description: crater: bell crater, vase painting, red figured, Apulia – Material: terracotta – Artist: Eumenides Painter – Dating: -390/-380 – Discovery: Armento – Description: Orest sitzt auf einer Basis und lehnt mit dem Rücken gegen den Omphalos. In seiner rechten Hand hält er ein Schwert. Rechts daneben erscheint Apollon. Er trägt in der einen Hand einen Lorbeerstamm und in der anderen ein kleines Ferkel, das er entsühnend über Orest hält. Weiter rechts steht Artemis. Auf der linken Seite befinden sich zwei Erinyen. Die eine lehnt im Schoss der anderen. Dadurch und durch die geschlossenen Augen hat der Maler deutlich wiederheheben, dass beide schlafen. Ein verhüllte Gestalt stösst mit der Hand die beiden Schläferinnen an, um sie aufzuwecken. Es handelt sich hier vermutlich um den Schatten den Klytämnestra. Von einer dritten Erynis ist nur noch der Oberkörper zu sehen. Da sie eine chthonische Gottheit ist, scheint sie hier als aus der Unterwelt, aus dem Grab der Klytämnestra aufsteigend.

Description: intaglio, gem, Roman – Material: glass(-paste) – Dating: -150/-75 – Discovery: Xanten, Colonia Ulpia Traiana – Description: Melampous heilt die Proitiden im Heiligtum der Artemis Hemera von Lousoi. Der bärtige Seher steht l. und hält in der R. ein Messer in der L. ein Ferkel an den Hinterbeinen. R. im Hintergrund eine Artemisstatuette auf einem hohen Sockel. Am r. Bildrand steht eine Frau, wohl Artemis. Im Vordergrund die drei Töchter des Proitos: Iphinoe, Lysippe, Iphianassa. Am linken Bildrand steht ein nackter Knabe mit Opferschale.

Description: hydria, pottery, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -330 – Discovery: Kyme, Cumae – Description: Eleusinisches Pantheon, in fünf Zweiergruppen, in sacra conversazione: Zwischen der thronenden Demeter und der stehenden Kore niederes Thymiaterion (Zacc. Typ I2), aus dem Rauch aufsteigt und an das zwei sich überkreuzende Bakchoi angelehnt sind. Auf den in Relief wiedergegebenen Zweigbündeln sind keine Ringe und überhaupt keine Spuren einer Einschnürung zu sehen. Rechts neben der Kore steht Herakles mit Keule und Bakchos in der Linken, sowie Ferkel in der Rechten. Er dreht sich um zur behelmten Athena, die hinter ihm auf einem Fels sitzt. Dahinter steht ein weiteres Paar, wohl die sitzende (auf Omphalos?) Thea (oder Deiope?) mit Szepter und vor ihr der mit zwei Fackeln stehende Eubouleus (oder Eumolpos?). Auf der linken Seite der Szenerie, steht links hinter Demeter Apoll mit Dreifuss, vor ihm sitzt Triptolemos auf dem Flügelwagen mit Szepter. Hinter ihm steht Iakchos (oder Eubouleus?) mit Fackel, der sich zur auf einem Omphalos (?) sitzenden Rhea (oder Thea?) mit Szepter umsieht.
