Description: tablet, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -380/-370 – Discovery: Eleusis (Attica) – Description: Eleusinian Gods around an omphalos: Principal scene in two registers: above at the right Demeter sits holding a scepter. Next to her stands Persephone holding two torches; she turns back towards an approaching female (Niinnion?) who carries a vessel, thought to be a kernos/plemochoe, on her head. Behind her a beardless youth carring a pitcher and a stick and bearded male carrying a staff and branches approach. In the lower register a woman holding a phiale and a scepter (Aphrodite?) sits right in front of an omphalos (hemispherical, unornamented). She is appoached by a youth wearing high boots, who holds two torches, one turned downward (variously interpreted as Iakchos, Eumolpos, or Eubouleus). Behind him is a dancing woman with a kernos/plemochoe(?) on her head, and a bearded male. Above, in the pediment, are a woman with kernos/plemochoe (?) on her head, an auletris, and two males. The dedicatory inscription is inscribed on the lower margin. – Inscriptions: Geweiht von Niinnion.

Description: hydria, pottery, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -330 – Discovery: Kyme, Cumae – Description: Eleusinisches Pantheon, in fünf Zweiergruppen, in sacra conversazione: Zwischen der thronenden Demeter und der stehenden Kore niederes Thymiaterion (Zacc. Typ I2), aus dem Rauch aufsteigt und an das zwei sich überkreuzende Bakchoi angelehnt sind. Auf den in Relief wiedergegebenen Zweigbündeln sind keine Ringe und überhaupt keine Spuren einer Einschnürung zu sehen. Rechts neben der Kore steht Herakles mit Keule und Bakchos in der Linken, sowie Ferkel in der Rechten. Er dreht sich um zur behelmten Athena, die hinter ihm auf einem Fels sitzt. Dahinter steht ein weiteres Paar, wohl die sitzende (auf Omphalos?) Thea (oder Deiope?) mit Szepter und vor ihr der mit zwei Fackeln stehende Eubouleus (oder Eumolpos?). Auf der linken Seite der Szenerie, steht links hinter Demeter Apoll mit Dreifuss, vor ihm sitzt Triptolemos auf dem Flügelwagen mit Szepter. Hinter ihm steht Iakchos (oder Eubouleus?) mit Fackel, der sich zur auf einem Omphalos (?) sitzenden Rhea (oder Thea?) mit Szepter umsieht.

Description: hydria, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Helena Painter – Dating: -360/-350 – Discovery: Rhodes (Dodecanese – Description: Untere Zone: Im Zentrum ist der Oberkörper der Ge nach rechts gewandt zu sehen, die Szepter und Füllhorn in beiden Händen hält. Auf dem Füllhorn sitzt Plutos (nach links gerichtet), den Kopf und den Oberkörper zurückgewandt sowie die Hände zu Demeter ausgestreckt, die rechts von Ge und Plutos in Dreiviertelansicht nach links steht, mit Szepter in der rechten Hand. Rechts von ihr steht der Dadouchos (Keryx, Eubouleus, Iakchos oder Eumolpos), den Kopf nach links zurückgewandt mit je einer Fackel in der Hand. Links von Ge ist Kore in Dreiviertelansicht (nach links gerichtet) mit zurückgewandtem Kopf zu sehen, die in jeder Hand eine Fackel trägt. Links von ihr eine nach rechts gewandte Frau (Eileithyia). Obere Zone: Über Ge ist Triptolemos auf dem Flügelwagen mit Schlangen dargestellt, in seinem linken Arm ein Szepter, in der linken Hand eine Phiale, in der rechten eine Ähre. Zwischen Ge und Triptolemos liegt ein Bakchos-Ring auf dem Boden. Rechts von ihm sitzt eine nach rechts gewandte Frau, den Kopf zurückgedreht (Demeter?), rechts von ihr ein Jüngling, der sein rechtes Bein auf einen Kasten stützt (Iasion?). Links von Triptolemos befindet sich eine weiter Frau, nach links gerichtet sitzend, den Kopf zurückgewandt (Aphrodite?). – Dimensions: H: 46 cm
