Die Statue ist bekränzt, aus ihrem Hinterkopf wächst eine buschige Efeuranke. Vor der Herme steht ein Tisch, auf dem Opfergaben stehen: Opferkuchen (oder Brot) und Fleisch. Zwei weibliche Figuren flankieren das Idol: die rechte trägt eine oinochoe und einen kanoun, die linke einen kantharos und einen thyrsos. Zuordnung zu Fest: Lenaia (Simon, Parke); Anthesteria (Burkert); Dionysos-Fest allgemein (Frontisi-Ducroux).

Description: stamnos, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Dating: -460/-450 – Discovery: Falerii Veteres – Description: Seite A: Vor einer anthropomorphen Säule in Chiton und Mantel mit einem Maskenidol des Dionysos ein Tisch (trapeza) mit Broten und zwei Mischgefässen (stamnos), hinter dem Idol wachsen buschförmig Efeuranken, auf Schulterhöhe hängen zwei runde Gegenstände, vermutlich Opferkuchen. Neben dem Tisch stehen zwei efeubekränzte Frauen. Die linke schöpft mit der Kelle (kyathos) Wein aus dem Mischgefäss in einen skyphos, die rechte wendet sich mit Grussgestus zum Idol, in der erhobenen Linken ebenfalls einen skyphos haltend. Seite B: Drei Mänaden bewegen sich in einer Prozession nach rechts. Die beiden äusseren, von denen die erste einen skyphos hält, gestikulieren mit den Armen, die mittlere hält einen thyrsos in der Hand, sie hat in Ekstase den Kopf in den Nacken geworfen und den Mund geöffnet.
