Vor dem Tisch befindet sich eine Situla. Im Hintergrund befindet sich ein Tempel vor dem Pelias zwischen seinen beiden Töchtern steht. Unterhalb des Tempels wird gerade ein bekränzter Stier für das Opfer für Poseidon von einem bekränzten Opferdiener herangeführt.

Sullo sfondo il sacello dei Penati. Frontseite: Aeneas opfert in Lavinium den Penaten an einem Feldsteinaltar: Oben li. ländlicher Schrein. Links vom Altar ein Opferdiener in einer Tunica, mit mantele auf der linken Schulter, auf der erhobenen linken Hand eine flache Schüssel mit Früchten haltend, in der rechten eine Kanne. Vorn Eckpilaster an den Seitenmauern der Cella; Giebel ornamental dekoriert, Palmettenakrotere. Mauerwerk und Dachziegeln sind deutlich angegeben. Innen 2 Penaten-Figuren. Das schlichte Sakralgebäude passt zum Charakter dieser sonst gewöhnlich innerhalb von Wohnhäusern und weniger in Tempeln verehrten Gottheiten. Seine Einfachheit steht auch im Einklang mit weiteren Darstellungen bukolisch-idyllischer Themen kombiniert mit ländlichen Schreinen, wie sie in der frühen Kaiserzeit besonders beliebt waren. Die Sujets dienen der Glorifizierung des Landlebens und sollen die glücklichen Zustände einer aurea aetas vermitteln.
