The god is seated on a throne under a canopy of Doric columns (= inside the temple) that is framed by two tripods. An omphalos (hemispherical shaped, with stemmata) is in front. Next to it a bearded man with a long staff who watches the procession as it approaches. Led by a kanephoros, the procession further includes seven male youths all wrapped in himatia and wearing laurel wreaths. The kanephoros is richly dressed and holds the kanoun with both hands. There is a thymiaterion (Zacc. TypB²) between the two youths following her. The third youth holds a phiale in his r. hand. Two sacrificial bulls are led by the following three figures. The iconography and composition link this vase to the Parthenon Frieze.
