Description: Crater: bell crater, vase painting, red figured, Attica – Material: terracotta – Artist: Pourtalès Painter – Dating: -360/-340 – Discovery: Sant’Agata de’ Goti – Description: Dargestellt wird die Initiation des Herakles und der Dioskuren in die eleusinischen Mysterien. Demeter, Kore, Triptolemos, eleusinisches Kultpersonal. Das Heiligtum von Eleusis wird gekennzeichnet durch ein hinten befindliches Gebäude: Geländelinie, dahinter oberer Teil von vier dorischen Säulen mit Architrav. Weiter links noch zwei einzelne, ebenfalls verkürzte Säulen. In der Mitte Demeter, Kore und Triptolemos auf dem Flügelwagen, zu Füssen der Mittelgruppe zwei Bakchosringe. Von links kommt Herakles mit Bakchos und Keule, in der oberen Bildhälfte ganz rechts und links die Dioskuren ebenfalls mit Bakchoi.
